Play65 World Series of Backgammon Qualifiers

World Series of BackgammonCan the next World Series of Backgammon Champion be qualified at the "Largest Backgammon Room Online"? At the moment, the answer is up to you.

April 24, 2008 -- Play65, the largest, most popular backgammon room online intends to send three of its players to compete at the most highly anticipated events in the backgammon world, the World Series of Backgammon Championship. The WSOB Championship is scheduled to July 21, 2008 at the Palm Beach Casino on Cannes and Play65 special satellites will run on May, June and July 2008 on Play65 online backgammon room.

The top 3 winners of Play65 WSOB qualifiers will earn 3 free €10.000 seats for the final table plus a once in a life time opportunity to compete against the best backgammon players in the world. Starting on May, and until the first week of July, Play65 will host a monthly satellite tournament with €12.000 worth 1st prize including a €10.000 seat to the WSOB final table and a €500 cash prize.

Entry fee to each of Play65 WSOB qualifiers will be €90 and a total prize of €2.000 will be shared by 16 players. You can also enter the qualifiers by winning any of Play65 satellite tournaments: winners of the €11.25/22.5 sit & go's will earn a free entry to Play65 WSOB qualifier while winners of the daily event tournament can earn free entry plus €50 cash prize.

About the WSOB Championship

The second season of the World Series of Backgammon (WSOB) Championship will take place in Cannes, France on July 21, 2008, directly after round three of the 2007-8 WSOB events will be finalized. World Series of Backgammon 2nd season consisted of three rounds: started on November 2007 at the UK Masters in London and continued on March 2008 with the 20th Anniversary Nordic Open in Denmark, the prestigious backgammon event will come to its end at the Riviera Cup in Cannes, on July 16-21 and the WSOB "Final Table".

The WSOB Championship is a "qualification only" event with only 16 qualified players, each seat priced at €10.000. 3 of the 16 seats are saved to Play65 qualifiers; 3 more to qualifiers of PartoucheGammon and Zakynthos Festival of Backgammon and Poker; the 3 winners of the 2007-8 WSOB events have ensured their participation at the championship; and the rest of the entrants are the top WSOB ranked players; Gus Hansen, Falafel Natanzon and John Clark are among them. The World Series of Backgammon Championship will be televised and broadcast all over Europe.
